Magic Mike the Mentalist Lefty!!

The guy must be mental. How he can see things in such a twisted way. It's inexplicable. From another planet, or Wonderland, or San Francisco. You know, not America. Or maybe it's me. Could be. I'm getting less and less normal. But I think it's him. Cuz I'm not normal, but my first principles are. Mike Lupica. Wronging for the NY Daily News. Oh. Did you see that? I wrote "wronging" and I meant "writing." LOL. I really did. Well, as I say, I'm not normal. But Mike is something else.

"John McCain 'suspended' his campaign last week because he said he needed to fly down to Washington and save a failing economy all by himself." That's not an unfair spin. Snarky, but so what. The point is though that he's not a third wheel, he's the guy who'd have to administer the bailout, if it goes through. Not a sidelines sort of thing, the way Obama seems to view it. No, McCain wouldn't be in the subcommittee chamber. He'd be twisting the arms of congresspersons. That isn't posturing. It's meaningful. Mike, and the left, doesn't get that, about leadership. He, with his magical mindreading ability, asserts that McCain was just "trying to figure out a way to bail out his own campaign." Cuz he's a phony, see?

But the thing that makes me bother to write this at all is what Mike says about Sarah. I'm so gallant. He calls her selection a "publicity stunt." Maybe on a par with a speech in Berlin? "Palin was always a form of sleight of hand with McCain - check her out, not me! - even if it was hailed as genius by people who would have treated her like the Rev. Jeremiah Wright if Barack Obama had selected her." Blast! I hate it when those lefties read my mind and tell me the future. How do they do that?!

So, we'd have objected to Sarah because, uh, she's so inexperienced? Y'know, that's not actually a bad point. It's why we object to Obama, after all -- and we'll just ignore the fact that Obama wants to be PRESIDENT. Seems like a different standard is not utterly inappropriate, between the two offices -- one, supreme commander of the mightiest nation in the world, the other, holder of an office not worth a bucket of warm spit. Mike sees it different, though. "Think about the reaction if Obama had selected anybody remotely like Palin." Um. Mike. He selected himself.

"...McCain can't hide Palin anymore. He couldn't hide her from Katie Couric last week and he can't hide her on Thursday night at the vice presidential debate..." Ah, such a feast, that sentence. Is Palin not campaigning? I get the distinct impression she is. Hiding in plain sight, then? Or is it only leftwing opinion shows and interviewers that count, and anything else is hiding? Apparently. And ... she can't hide from the debates? Oh my. I cannot wait for the next time Biden kicks himself in the gut through his face. You know, foot in mouth down to the hip bone.

As for Couric, well. Much seems to be made of the fact that Sarah is aware of the fundamental geographical reality, that Russia abuts Alaska.
Couric: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?

Palin: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and, on our other side, the land boundary that we have with Canada.

Couric: Well, explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.

Palin: Well, it certainly does, because our, our next-door neighbors are foreign countries, there in the state that I'm executive of.

Couric: Have you ever been involved in any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?

Palin: We have trade missions back and forth, we do. It's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia. As Putin rears his ugly head and comes into the air space of the United States, where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there, they are right next to our state.
Mike and Katie and their leftwing colleagues must think she's lying. We do not have trade missions back and forth. Alaska has no role in monitoring Russian activities. Sarah's just lying about that, and the lefties haven't bothered to getting around to pointing out her easily disproved lies. Cuz they're so gracious. Mike quotes from the interview, as if it made a point that favored his bias. I suppose he thinks it was tactically wise. No. Wait. I'm sure he does, cuz I just decided that I have magical lefty brainreading powers too!

Oh lord. I just can't go on. Mike gets into a demand for examples of McCain's drive for regulations. Ask me tomorrow and maybe I'll go into it. Right now I'm gonna go look at how badly my investment portfolio is doing. I'm ruined, today. Maybe tomorrow I'll be rich.

*fistbumps Jack H*

as for McCain himself, he returns to his well known form and habits already:
http://rightwingnews.com/mt331/2008/09/how_mccains_botched_response_t.php
"McCain could have publicly joined with them and supported their ideas. In one fell swoop, he could have broken with Bush, fired up conservatives, picked a plan that would have been more popular with the public, and he could have distinguished himself from Obama with his leadership."

we could, right now, today, be looking at a 20 point lead for McCain in the polls. but the number of tactical and strategic campaign errors he has made in just the last week are almost innumerable.

he's not a conservative. and he's not fit to lead.

i would support the House Republican proposal but i REALLY want criminal prosecution for the top managers of Fannie and Freddie with total asset forfeiture. don't think i've got a chance in hell of seeing that though.

Hardly any of them are fit to lead.

No chance at all, prison. Justice is a theological concept.
