Don't you mean you can be brave and be free or you can be a coward and become a slave?

how do you presume that the cowardly will remain 'free'?

truly, tis a conundrum. and not an answer that would have pleased your Viking fourbears*.


* - most of us only have twobears but Jack, being so superior as he is, has more.

There's a proverb, Brave men see the world through bars.

Just as it depends on what the meaning of is is, so with freedom. It's a matter of definitions. Always define the terms of the discussion.
